Foaming cleanser for silicone products

A small foaming wash for Silagen sheets, strips, shapes and umbilical inserts — it lifts away oils so reusable silicone grips again.

What the cleanser is for

Reusable silicone collects skin oils and residue, and gradually loses its tack. Silagen states that washing with its foaming cleanser restores the stickiness of a sheet so it adheres better, and that adhesive silicone products, with proper care, should last 3–4 weeks.

The cleanser is for the silicone product — not for treating a scar. Silagen’s sheeting directions also allow gentle washing with tap water and mild hand soap; the cleanser is an alternative designed for these products.

Silagen material and packaging have used more than one name for this cleanser (the bottle shown reads “CLEAN”). Check the name and directions on the bottle you have.

Ingredients and label

We have not listed ingredients for the cleanser; use the panel on your bottle.

Check on your current package

  • Check the outer carton and bottle of the exact product you received: product name, size, full ingredient list, warnings and lot/expiry.
  • Follow the bottle’s directions for rinsing — leftover soap can affect how well silicone sticks.
  • Keep it for the silicone product unless the label or your care team says otherwise.

Washing a silicone piece

  1. Remove gently

Peel the piece off slowly from one edge. Inspect, wash and dry your skin while it is off.

  2. Wash the silicone

Use a little foaming cleanser — or tap water with mild hand soap — on the adhesive side, gently.

  3. Rinse and air-dry

Rinse thoroughly and let it air-dry, adhesive side up. Avoid towels that leave lint.

  4. Reapply or store

Put it back on clean, dry skin, or store it in its original packaging.
