What Is a Facility Fee?

A facility fee is charged for resources and services provided by the independent facility where your surgery takes place. Depending on your procedure and clinical needs, that location may be a hospital, ambulatory surgery center, or office-based surgical facility.

These are independent third-party charges, not TRC fees. The facility sets its charges and terms and is responsible for the facility services it provides. TRC's Patient Services fee is separate and covers TRC's planning and administrative coordination.

The facility fee may appear separately or within a combined quote. What it includes depends on the facility and your written estimate.

Facility fees and professional fees cover different services. Confirm whether your complete estimate also includes the surgeon's fee and professional anesthesia charges, even when they appear together in one quote.
