Active Tissue Reconstruction begins immediately after a procedure and establishes the biological foundation upon which long-term healing depends.
The first fourteen days represent the body's most active period of tissue reconstruction. During this phase, tremendous biological resources are directed toward protecting treated tissues, restoring stability, and creating the framework that will support every stage of healing that follows.
The body's earliest priorities include regulating inflammation, restoring healthy circulation, delivering oxygen and nutrients, producing collagen, and coordinating the biological processes that rebuild damaged tissues. Although much of this activity occurs beneath the surface, it is essential to creating the structural foundation upon which long-term healing depends.
Swelling, bruising, warmth, firmness, and changes in comfort are common during this early stage and often reflect the body's normal biological response rather than the final outcome of healing. Because tissues remain especially vulnerable, Dr. Baldenhofer may recommend temporary activity restrictions and other physician-directed measures designed to protect healing tissues while supporting the body's earliest biological priorities.
The biological foundation established during these first fourteen days continues influencing every stage of healing that follows. As tissues strengthen and mature, this early framework evolves through collagen remodeling, biological adaptation, and tissue maturation, helping shape long-term results that continue to mature well beyond the initial healing period.
